If you are a music fan in Madison, Friday night brings you many options:

1) Mason Jennings at the Majestic 9pm

WUD Music presents Minneapolis-bred singer-songwriter Mason Jennings with Minneapolis based opener Haley Bonar. Tickets are going fast and only $15 for students. Expect an intimate show as Mason Jennings will be performing solo in one of Madison’s most intriguing venues.

2) U-N-I at Der Rathskeller 9pm

Good Cali Hip-Hop brought to you by WUD Music. Catch these guys before they hit it big. It’s free, so what other reason do you need? It can be your precursor to the Benzi throw down at Montmartre.

3) DJ Benzi @ Cafe Montmartre 11pm

The Wongz Walk crew, bringing a breath of fresh air to the Madison music scene, present Kanye West’s old tour DJ in what is sure to be a night chock full of good times. Think Diplo but at a smaller venue. It’s gonna be ruckus!

4) Suparanks and His Rockstone Highpower @ The Pub 9pm

Local Madison dancehall/reggae champs will play the most unlikely of venues but everyone’s favorite bar: The Pub. Play pool and eat popcorn while listening to some dank dancehall music.

5) The Handsome Family @ The High Noon Saloon 9:30pm

True Endeavors presents this husband and wife duo who play their own unique brand of “gothic/country/folk.” Marissa Nadler opens.

6) Will Hoge @ Cafe Montmartre 7pm

This early show presented by the Majestic (since we’re using their venue that night) is sure to please fans of Mason Jennings. Patron Montmartre before heading over to the Majestic for Mason Jennings.

7) Ezra Furman and the Harpoons @ Orpheum Stage Door 11:30pm

Special late night show from Ezra Furman presented by the Majestic (they have their hands full this Friday). Mason Jennings attendees get half off admission, all the more reason to go to Mason Jennings. Yours truly caught Ezra Furman’s set at SXSW and it was pretty stellar.

If you play it right this Friday night you can catch a whole lot of music in Madison. Who are you gonna see?
