Summer is quickly coming to an end. If you’re weary about classes starting, have no fear! Reggae Fest is coming to the Terrace this weekend, chalk full of sultry tunes and chill vibes.
Our first band will be Taki Allstars. Having been featured on Urban Theater with John Urban, this local band is definitely a Madison favorite. With male and female vocalists, a slough of instruments, and steamy melodies, Taki Allstars truly have a sound for every type of music listener. An article in the Isthmus claims that “local dub-’n'-reggae troupe Taki Allstars will get the dance party started.”
Our second band for the evening will be Dumate, who is quickly becoming another Madison favorite in the hip hop scene, having shared the stage with giants like The Game and The Mighty Underdogs. In 2005, Dumate released their debut album dumate Rite: The Known Knowns. The group also won R&B Album of the Year at the 2010 Madison Area Music Awards for their 2009 release, We Have The Technology. With an innovative sound and unforgettable stage presence, Dumate is a local group not to be missed.
