With the release of LC!’s newest album in November, this long-awaited show is finally here! Pitchfork described Hello Sadness as “their fourth straight great album,” ultimately giving it a solid 8.0. Check it out for yourself below.

Although Parenthetical Girls haven’t released a full-length album in some time, they’re definitely not to be overlooked. If you haven’t heard of the Oregon-based group, their indie pop sound with an experimental edge is sure to win you over Saturday night. You may want to take a cue from the picture above and toss some confetti in the air because on February 17th the folks in attendance at The Sett will be treated to a fantastic double-feature when YACHT and Asobi Seksu play back-to-back. YACHT visits after putting out one of the hottest albums of 2011, Shangri-La, which delivered electropop that made us dance and ponder at the same time. Asobi Seksu’s appearance comes almost exactly a year after the release of Fluorescence, their newest album in a long career of shoegaze excellence. Don’t miss a chance to see two bands at the forefront of their craft, making your ears happy for the low, low price of free.

2/17 ASOBI SEKSU + YACHT – The Sett: Union South Facebook

We’re excited to announce that Doomtree are coming to The Sett on March 9th. I’m sure that most of you currently living in the Midwest know who the enormously successful Minneapolis collective is, but the group is made up of emcees P.OS., Sims, Dessa, Mike Mictlan, and Cecil Otter, as well as DJs Paper Tiger and Lazerbeak. They’ve released numerous excellent records, separately and together, with latest release No Kings being a prime example. Come see some homegrown hip-hop for free, as always.

We’re also excited to announce that Rosie Thomas will hit the stage at The Sett on March 24th. The Michigan singer-songwriter’s sixth LP With Love will appropriately be released on February 14th, Valentine’s Day. Don’t want to wait until then? You can currently download her last album for free and hear a few new ones over at her site.

Carter Tanton of Lower Dens released his solo album Freeclouds in November of last year and if you haven’t heard it yet you’re just missing out. Fight your musical illiteracy this weekend when he performs Saturday at FRZN at the High Noon.
